Mission Blue

Are you ready for your first Phoozl Mission? Good. Read on...

Here's the backstory: "Azure" magazine in the Land of Atlantis is seeking images containing the color blue for its next Special Edition. The more blue the better. That's the COLOR blue, not the feeling or the suggestive aspect. And because Atlantis is underwater, they have appointed Phoozl's very own Haraldo as their go-between. Which makes sense considering Haraldo's many years of experience as a magazine art director (really).

Assignment & Theme: Show us your images that celebrate the color blue in all its beauty and variations. Show us the Best of the Blues!

Categories: All categories of Blue are welcome (nature, landscape, people, abstract, sports, et al.), but please no overt sexuality/pornography or violence. Underwater images are accepted but not required.

Deadline: Time is very fluid and slow-moving in Atlantis, and therefore "Blue" is a perpetual and re-occurring theme for Azure articles. So there is no deadline; this is an open-ended Mission.

Submissions: Because Phoozl does not have its photo-uploading mechanism working yet, please email your image submissions to Haraldo at: missionblue@phoozl.com. (put "Mission Blue" in the subject line) Haraldo will then review and evaluate your images.

IMAGE DISPLAY & CRITIQUES: Haraldo will show noteworthy images in subsequent PhoozNews blog posts (or elsewhere on Phoozl once Mission Blue is moved to its permanent home). Displayed images may be available for viewer commenting, rating, or reviewing. And if you're lucky, Haraldo will critique some or all images, which in itself is a worthy award. NOTE: See first page of results here.

IMAGE QUANTITY: 5 photos maximum per submission please. You may re-submit with new images after the lunar/tidal cycle (28 days).

TECH SPECS: any reasonable-sized image will be accepted, although 800x600 or so in pixel dimensions is preferred. Color or monochrome. RGB JPEG suggested. No prints.

Phoozl Registration: Signing Up or Registering for Phoozl is a requirement for submission. If you haven't already, why don't you Sign Up? It's free and easy.

Awards & Prizes: In addition to the enormous prestige of having your images published in Azure, which is required reading of all citizens of Atlantis (it's a "delphinic dictatorship"), the winning 5 submissions will also receive 10,000 Atlos per image (the Atlo is the legal tender of Atlantis; current conversion rates may vary), and the top submitter will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Atlantis to tour the offices of Azure magazine. Breathing equipment is your own responsibility.

Winning-image decisions are at the total discretion of Haraldo and the staff of Azure.

Ownership: By submission, you agree that each image is your own work and does not infringe upon any rights of others, and you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Phoozl and the Phoozlment harmless for any and all third-party actions relating thereto. For clarity, you retain ownership of all photos submitted, but by submitting you agree to grant to Phoozl the perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display them in connection with this Mission.
